Detailed tour description
Rhine Falls and Liechtenstein tour from Zurich
From Zurich, we travel by train to the Rhine Falls, Europe's largest waterfall.
First, we travel by train to the south banks of the waterfall. There are many viewing platforms close up to the waterfall. You can almost touch the water and feel the sheer power of the falls.
Afterward, it's time for a boat ride. The Mändli boating company will take us to a viewing point on the Rock in the middle of the waterfall, where you have a 360° panorama of the waterfall.
The cruise will take us to the north bank of the waterfall, where you will find more vantage points.
Around noon, we continue from the north bank station train station of the Rhine Falls and travel to the Principality of Liechtenstein. There we take a stroll across the capital city of Vaduz. At the tourism office, you can get the official Liechtenstein immigration stamp in your passport.
Afterward, we can visit the Old Rhine Bridge, which connects Switzerland with Liechtenstein.
Later we return to Zurich, where we arrive at approx. 7 to 9 PM.
If you are not fond of boat rides, you can also book this tour without the Rock cruise. However, a 5-minute transfer ride by boat from the south to the north bank is required. Without the cruise the tour price is CHF 20 lower per adult.

Weather
Weather forecast
Once a reliable weather forecast is available (usually one to three days before departure), I will send you a link to the forecast.
If there is bad weather forecasted, I will include my recommendations for our tour day.
I use the weather forecasts provided by the Federal Office of Meteorology and SRF (Swiss Radio and Television).
With the links below, you can check the weather forecast at any time by yourself. The forecasts are available for the next five days.

This tour can run in any weather condition. In case of a high tide, the cruise at the Rhine Falls can get canceled or altered. On rare occasions, there may be a cancellation due to landslides, and other natural forces or the risk thereof. I will fully refund the deposit in this case.
Your options in case of bad weather
- You can choose a different tour/mountain peak in an area with better weather (if available, the price of the newly selected tour will apply).
- We can do the tour as planned despite the weather.
- I also have a few full-day train tours. For example, the Glacier Express route on local trains tour. These tours are ideal on rainy days as we are for most of the day inside and not exposed to the weather, and as on rainy days the views are usually better at lower altitudes.
- If not having perfect weather is a dealbreaker, you can cancel by forfeiting the deposit.
